Invisible Hazards

Shining a light in the dark...

Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more so that we fear less.

Marie Curie

Not every hazard is visible or obvious. There arenumerous examples; noise, vibration, microscopicparticles etc. Just because we can’t see things doesn’t mean they aren’t going to harm us. However, it’s more difficult to have a fear or exercise caution with something that’s invisible or that has no immediate effect.
Once more, COVID-19 has provided the world’s population with a valuable lesson on the hazards which are invisible. It may provide a greater reverence for other such hazards and provide greater understanding and compliance with similar issues.
As ever, vigilance is required. It would be easy to slip back into the old routine at work. The new controls, implemented for COVID-19, will take time to get used to (who knows for how long?). Yet, when they do bed in, hopefully workers will exercise more caution when faced with other invisible hazards in their workplace.
